Friday January 2, 2009 :: Gone...
 |
So earlier this week Pat Bowlen decided to fire Mike Shanahan as head coach of the Denver Broncos. The reason is performance and as much as I'll miss coach Shanny, I can't help but agree with him getting canned. As long as you look at this as a business move you should be on the side of Bowlen. Shanny was great in the beginning, kind of like your first real girlfriend. You know, you go all the way... (in Shanny's case twice). But for some odd reason, no more going all the way. That well dried up and you are left holding your... well you can finish the rest. He just wasn't doing it anymore and you can't have that, it just doesn't make good business sense to keep him. I'll miss Shanahan and I'm scared to see who they get to replace him! Most likely the 2009-20010 season will suck big time. The only thing saving the Broncos is their crummy division, so who really knows.
Again, I'll miss him but bring on the new coach.

Saturday December 13, 2008 :: Boxing!!
So I’ve been working out at L.A. Boxing for a week now and feel so good! You need to check them out, their website is laboxing.com or you can call them at 303-63-LA-BOX. By the way your first class is FREE, so you can give it a test run and see if you like it before you commit to anything! I’m just doing to get in shape and develop some self defense skills in case I get jumped after work. Head up to the one at 104th and Hwy 36 in Westminster right next to Panera Bread, that’s the one I go to (assuming it’s not too far of a drive for you). They also have locations in Parker & Littleton.
I never knew how good of a workout it was to throw punches! It’s crazy, I can’t get enough… I think now I could take out the big man. That’s right, I think I could lay out Big Al. Assuming he was sick and hadn’t eaten anything in 5 days…. Well maybe not, sometimes I forget how big and quick he is. I wonder who would win in a fight between Scott & Al… I guess that’s like asking who would win between The Thing and The Hulk. Think about that for a second… NOW THAT’S SOMETHING TO DEBATE!! |

Alright got to go eat some home cooked food!

Thursday December 4, 2008 :: Let it snow!
 |
So it's all snowy outside right now, which is nice. I would rather be cold instead of being hot, but that’s just me… Also you can’t beat football in the snow, hopefully the Broncos will have a couple games in this arctic bliss. Anyway, the part I hate about the snow is the drivers on the highway! If there is ice and/or snow on the road, don’t go flying up and down I-25 at 65mph! You’re probably going to crash or cause someone else to, and then everybody who follows the rules of the road gets screwed! We’ll be stuck in a two hour traffic jam because some jerk hole decided he needed to rush home to catch Wheel of Fortune! (I love that show) What’s funny about what I just said is that it’s true! I got to run, I just had to say that. So everybody this winter season, pull your head out of your back side and slow down!

Saturday November 29, 2008 :: People are stupid!
|
I went to the grocery store today to buy a few things and a very strange thing happened. The cashier (who tries to be funny and cool with every customer) started talking to me very oddly. He said "Yo, yo homie what's going on in the hood?" I just responded in my normal tone "Not too much." He continued to talk in what I can only describe as "Gansta Talk". (I don’t know how else to say it, sorry if that makes you mad… deal with it) The worst part is, the cashier is a 60+ year old guy with glasses and a mustache.
Now the transaction took about 2 minutes and the whole time he was talking in this fashion. He ended the conversation by saying "Yo, you headed to your crib? Be cool dog!" Keep in mind, the lady in line before me he talked to without any slang. Also, I've gone through this guys line before and he never talked to me this way... So the only thing I can think of aside from huffing paint on his breaks, is judging on appearance. When I got home I took a picture of what I was wearing at the store... you tell me, why and the hell would he think to talk to me or anybody like that?
I have to admit, on one hand I appreciate the fact he's trying to have fun at his job. On the other hand, how stupid is he automatically putting me into stereo type by the clothes that I wear. I have no problem with people that talk with slang... the thing is I don't talk that way and nobody should ever assume that a person does or doesn't by the way they dress.
I may be completly wrong on this guy, he may of thought because I'm young that's how I would talk. No matter what, it proves that people still judge others. I guess I'm judging him in a way.
This isn’t a big deal, but in a way it kind of feels like it. That's why I have to say... PEOPLE ARE STUPID... and we all have to stop and take a step back and realize it's not necessary to stick people in categories. We all different yet the same… so just be yourself and treat everyone equally.

Saturday November 22, 2008 :: I'm back!
|
Not that you really care, but yes I'm back! I had a great time in Australia with my brother and his family. We saw a couple Kangaroo & Koala's. I rode on a boat and saw the Sydney Opera House. Tons of stuff, too much to mention. Oh and I swam in the ocean... well it was a bay that is connected to the ocean, but I still did it! I got bit on my foot by something! In fact a lady that is native to Australia that we were hanging out with thought it was a jelly fish that got me... I swear to you she was telling everybody around me, that someone needed to pee on my foot. No joke! I told her maybe I stepped on a rock or something. The last thing I needed was for someone to take a squirt on my foot during my vacation!

Moving along...
When I was over there, I had time to watch some sports. Mainly rugby. I got to say, if rugby was on tv more here in the states, I'd watch it. It's an exciting game that is full of speed and hard hits. Cricket is a popular sport as well, but I'd rather watch baseball and I hate watching baseball.
So if you ever have to opportunity to head down to Australia, DO IT! It's a beautiful country.

Friday November 7, 2008 :: And like that.... I'm gone!
What a great way to end my week, the Broncos got a much needed win last night against the Browns. The greatest thing is, on Sunday I fly out to Australia for two weeks!
Let's jump back to the Bronco game real quick. Jay Cutler had 447 passing yards, which is awesome! The issue I have with him is that he still makes dumb mistakes. At one point in the game, he was under pressure and threw across his body... but what was really bad is, it was a big time floater! It was almost picked off, but Sheffler was smart enough to interfere with DB so he couldn't catch it. He has 18 td passes to 11 interceptions so far. 11 interceptions and they've only played 9 games! He needs to step it up, because right now he's second in the league for most interceptions just behind Brett Favre. On the plus side, he is currently leading the league with the most passing yards and second for TD passes. If he can stop throwing picks, the Broncos can start getting back on track to at least winning the division.
 |
Now that I said my thoughts on the Broncos, let's talk my vacation. On Sunday I fly out to Australia for a 2 week escape from work. So while you're sitting here suffering through the cold, I'll be walking along a beautiful beach in shorts... while checking out the locals. The only issue I have is I can't really swim.. I can only swim on my back and that's not going to save me if JAWS come swimming my way!
Wish me luck and I hope to talk you guys when I get back...

Wednesday October 1, 2008 :: Fight!
|
So on Sept. 30th we had Luke "Lil' Hulk" Caudillo in studio, who happens to be an MMA fighter. During the commercial breaks Luke was showing the guys some submission moves. The perfect dummy to try them on is Spencer... let's just say Spencer’s eyes were popping out a couple of times. Then for some odd reason I agreed to have the guy they call Lil Hulk, kick me in the leg. Just an FYI, don't ever let a guy who's job it is to beat the crap out of people, kick or punch you. Holy cow that hurt... but I didn't fall or cry and I'm proud of that.
The picture to the right is almost an exact reenactment of the of the altercation between Luke and I...

I got to put ice on my leg, talk to you later...

Wednesday September 17, 2008 :: Ed Hochuli
|
Last Sunday when the Denver Broncos played the San Diego Chargers here in the Mile High city, there was botched call by 19 year NFL Ref Ed Hochuli. Here's all I want to say... He messed up, Ed admits he messed up. Charger fans... SHUT YOUR PIE HOLES! The guy screwed up, respect the fact he had the guts to admit it! I know if the shoe was on the other foot, the opinions of Bronco fans would be different. They might not admit that now, but I know that's true. If the Boltz are that pissed about all this, let that fuel them into kicking the Broncos ass's on their field in late December! I'm sure every man in a Denver uniform will gladly accept the challenge.
By the way, I'm still standing by my prediction that the Broncos will end up 8-8... I hope I'm wrong, but I got to stick to my picks.

Monday July 28, 2008 :: MOVIE REVIEW: Batman The Dark Knight

I walked into the theater to see Batman The Dark Knight with a couple expectations. First I was expecting to be annoyed with the over hype of the Joker played by the now deceased Heath Ledger. Also, I was excited to see what new gadgets they could come up with in this movie versus the last one. Finally I was waiting to see who replaced Rachael, which was played by Katie Holmes in the last Batman movie.
After watching the whole movie the first words out of my mouth were... “Wow that was awesome!”
Why was it awesome?
The Characters:
Christian Bale has to be the best actor to play Batman, sorry to all of you Adam West fans. The way he carries himself in these films makes you believe he in fact is the Dark Knight.
The hype that surrounds Heath Ledger as the Joker is justified. All the little psycho quirks that he pulled out for this film are jaw dropping. He was truly The Joker and owned the role. Expect Heath Ledger to receive some sort of award for this movie.
Someone who isn’t getting as much respect as Heath Ledger is Aaron Eckhart, he plays a high-profile District Attorney for Gotham City… Harvey Dent AKA Two Face! Eckhart played his role with passion and perfect execution. Although I would say Heath Ledger whipped his out on the table and his is bigger, Eckhart deserves some props for his ability to bring out a great Two-Face character.
So in the Dark Knight they replaced the Rachael Dawes character (which in the movie before was played by Katie Holmes, who is not a good actress) with Maggie Gyllenhaal. She is 100 times worse than Katie Holmes! What the hell is that about? How hard is it to find a hot chick to play in a Batman flick?
The story line:
This story was beautifully laid out in perfect Batman type style. At some points a little farfetched, but justified by the fact…. IT’S A FREAKING MOVIE! Oh and the gadgets in this version of Batman don't get too much attention, but what we do see of them.... they kick butt!
This is a movie worth seeing over and over and is worth every penny out of your check book.
If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and see it in the theater! So far best movie of the year!

Sunday July 27, 2008 :: MOVIE REVIEW: X-Files I Want To Believe
|
The following review my reveal some minor details to the X-Files plot, but the movie was so horrible I don't feel bad about it.
The newest X-Files movie was appropriately named "I Want To Believe", why? Because I wanted to believe that this was going to be a great movie, but instead I believe I wasted about an hour and forty five minutes of my life!
Before any more negative comments about the X-Files movie, lets hear the positive: It was good to see David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson back together again as Mulder and Scully. It seemed before the movie started, I was like a kid on Christmas just imagining what I was in store for... all the old X-Files TV shows running through my head... all the crazy situations Mulder and Scully have been through tickled my brain. Then the movie started, I sat there intensely waiting to be blown away with some crazy situation that only Mulder and Scully new how to fix. Not the case here, if I wasn't so scared I was going to miss some crazy twist (a twist that never happened) I would have fallen asleep or left the movie. The only thing that knocked me around a tad was the bedroom scene with Mulder and Scully. Finally the truth comes out, Fox is banging Dana! That I guess was worth watching the movie for, although there wasn't any aaahhh, you know.... "fun bag" shots.
Another thing they did was bring in Amanda Peet as an FBI agent. Let me say this, seeing her beautiful eyes looking back at me as I sat in the movie theater made the pain of a boring movie go away. That is until she fell to her death in the flick!
So as I wrap this up, here a the facts: Mulder and Scully love each other, Amanda Peet is hot and X-Files I Want To Believe would have been better off being a special on tv not a movie, it was a boring story and is not worth spending more than a couple bucks on. WAIT TILL IT'S ON DVD!
